Introducing: Birdsong Garden Consulting, garden guidance in your own backyard.

Get accessible and personalized garden advice, design services, plant selection help, and step by step instructions to achieve your garden goals!

How it works

Step One: Schedule your one-hour, in person, garden consultation at your location. During this consultation we will discuss your goals for your space, your plant preferences, your questions, your experience and desires for participation in the process. We will measure your garden space, map out what you want to keep, and evaluate the condition of your soil and the amount of sunlight the area gets.

Step Two: You will receive a plan, with plant choices, a plant layout and a complete list of materials and cost estimates for what you will need to make your goals happen. Up to 100 square feet of garden space is included in the $150 consultation fee, anything over that is billed at $1/square foot.

Step Three: You decide whether you want to:

  • A) Have your Birdsong Garden Consultant purchase & deliver the materials and plants necessary for you to complete the project on your own -DIY style (Material & delivery costs only)

  • B) Have your Birdsong Garden Consultant work along side you to complete your project, literally. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn about the plants going into the garden, techniques for design and planting, as well as how to maintain the garden. (A quote will be provided for the entire job including Materials + Delivery + Labor)

  • C) Have your Birdsong Garden Consultant purchase the materials, and complete the installation for you. (A quote will be provided for the entire job including Materials + Delivery + Labor)

Step Four: Enjoy your new space, and reap the rewards of a beautiful and productive garden - whether your goal is to have cut flowers for the kitchen table, birds and bees to watch buzzing about your backyard, or to be able to pick herbs from your garden everyday for your evening meal!

Kitchen Gardens

We can design and install raised bed kitchen gardens to grow your cooking essentials - like herbs, tomatoes, salad greens, onions & garlic. Let us take the guess work out of your gardening plan, we will guide you through planting times, methods and sources of materials right here in the Piedmont Triad.

Garden Refresh

Mailbox plantings

Have you been wanting to learn how to garden, but wondering where to even begin? Well, a mailbox garden may be the answer for you! Here in North Carolina, we have beautiful big trees, which result in a lot of shady areas. Sometimes the sunniest part of your yard will be out by your mailbox. Warm and sunny areas make great spots for a colorful, welcoming garden installation. Let us show you how!

Our Philosophy

We want to help you design gardens that are good for you, and good for the Earth. We design gardens that are bird & pollinator friendly, which means that we will use plants, products, and materials that will support the native wildlife and not harm them. We will not advise the use of chemicals or plants that are invasive in our Piedmont Region.
